The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro gets the important bit of premium robot cleaning right: it is built around reducing the grubby follow-up jobs, not merely sending a vacuum round the room. Its dock washes, dries, refills and empties, which is exactly the sort of automation that makes mopping feel worthwhile. The trade-off is substantial, though: this is a large system that demands a properly planned, hard-floor home for its dock.
The dock is the reason to spend more
For me, the multifunction dock is the Qrevo Curv 2 Pro’s strongest argument. It auto-empties dust, refills the robot with warm water, washes its mop pads with water heated to up to 100°C, then dries the mops and dock base with air heated to up to 55°C. That is a far more convincing approach than treating a damp mop pad as an acceptable thing to leave sitting around between cleans.
It is not a maintenance-free fantasy, and I rather like that the practicalities are clear. You will still need to top up the clean-water tank, empty the dirty-water tank, look after the cleaning tray and replace the disposable dust bag when needed. Use Roborock-recommended cleaning solution rather than disinfectant, too. But shifting the frequent, tiresome work to the dock is a meaningful benefit, not a gimmick.
Designed for homes with awkward floor changes
Roborock quotes 25,000Pa HyperForce suction, an attention-grabbing number, but I would not choose a robot on suction figures alone. Getting to the dirt matters just as much. The clever hardware here is the AdaptiLift chassis, designed for carpets up to 3cm, plus a manufacturer-stated ability to cross double-layer thresholds up to 4cm.
Those figures are manufacturer-tested capabilities, rather than a promise that every thick rug or peculiar doorstep will be defeated. Still, the intention is spot on. Many homes are a jumble of rugs, carpet edges and room transitions, so a robot designed to handle changing levels makes more sense than one happiest on uninterrupted hard flooring.
The retractable LiDAR arrangement also brings the stated body height down to 79.8mm. That is a sensible piece of engineering because furniture clearance is often the difference between automated cleaning and a conspicuously dusty strip beneath the sofa.
Navigation that deserves sensible expectations
Reactive AI uses structured light and an RGB camera, while the VertiBeam lateral laser is intended to improve edge detection. I like the focus on edges and obstacles: the places around furniture legs and along skirting boards are precisely where a supposedly independent cleaner needs to be useful.
My main reservation is that no obstacle-recognition system is a licence to abandon basic preparation. Clear away cables, fragile objects, loose valuables and hard or sharp items before it starts. On raised areas where there is a risk of falling, use a physical barrier. This is not glamorous advice, but it is the difference between automation that helps and automation that needs rescuing.
Make room before buying
The Qrevo Curv 2 Pro is compact for what it does at 350 × 352 × 79.8mm, but the dock is a serious 450 × 450 × 450mm cube. It must sit against a wall on a hard, level floor, not on carpet or a mat, with more than 1.2m clear in front, 0.9m above and 0.46m wide. At 14.4kg for robot and dock together, this is something to position deliberately rather than casually shuffle around.
The other small-but-important issue is Wi-Fi. Pairing requires a 2.4GHz network through the Roborock app. A 5GHz-only network is a firm compatibility problem, so sort that out before the box is on the doorstep. The dock is specified for UK mains at 220–240VAC, 50–60Hz.
What I like
- Automation with a purpose: dust emptying, warm-water refilling, hot-water mop washing and heated drying take on the least appealing chores.
- Low-profile thinking: the 79.8mm retractable-LiDAR design targets the neglected space beneath lower furniture.
- Useful mobility ambitions: the lifting chassis is designed around carpets and thresholds, not only pristine open-plan floors.
- Well-considered navigation hardware: structured light, an RGB camera and a lateral laser are aimed at obstacles and edges.
What gives me pause
- The dock needs commitment: its size and specified clearance make placement a genuine purchase condition.
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is essential: it will not suit a 5GHz-only network without a compatible 2.4GHz option.
- There is still upkeep: water tanks, tray, dust bag and mop cloths need ongoing attention.
- Household prep still matters: cords, fragile objects and fall risks need dealing with before automated cleaning.
Would I buy it?
Yes, for somebody who wants a genuinely high-automation cleaner and has mixed floors, low furniture or troublesome room transitions. The Qrevo Curv 2 Pro’s best ideas are practical ones: keep the mops cared for, reduce emptying chores, get under furniture and tackle the floor changes that stop lesser robots in their tracks.
I would steer anyone with a tiny home, no suitable hard-floor dock position or a 5GHz-only network towards a simpler robot. The condition that changes my recommendation is dock placement. Give this system its required space and it looks like a thoughtfully capable cleaning companion. Deny it that space and its most impressive feature becomes a bulky inconvenience.
Useful extra
Roborock’s Qrevo Curv 2 Pro washable mop cloths four-pack is the sensible spare to keep in mind. A second set is handy while the original cloths are being cleaned or when they eventually need replacing; fit them flat to the mop mounts and confirm they are correctly installed before a cleaning task.
What I would pair it with
These are the optional extras I would consider for a compatible setup—not a shopping list you need to buy in full. Check the compatibility notes before choosing. The product buttons below are affiliate links.
