I like the Lumix TZ99 because its 30x, 24-720mm-equivalent lens gives a compact camera a clear purpose. It is a strong travel pick, but only if you accept 15-minute 4K clips, mode-specific stabilisation limits and the need for a suitable U3 SD card.
The Marshall Kilburn III gets portability right for people who want presence rather than pocketability: long claimed battery life, hands-on controls and useful connections, tempered by its 2.8kg weight, splash-only rating and lack of microphones.
Canon’s EOS R50 V is a genuinely creator-focused interchangeable-lens camera, with clever self-shooting controls and serious colour options. The catch is its heavily cropped 4K 60p mode, so choosing a wide enough lens is essential.
